There is “absolutely nothing to suggest” that a road incident that closed a central Glasgow square was a terrorist attack, Scottish police say.
Police are warning people to avoid George Square after a “very serious road incident” Monday.
A Glasgow police spokesperson told CNN the incident occurred just after 2:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. ET) Monday.
The spokesperson would not comment on reports of fatalities or any possible motive but said police were on the scene.
Police later said “there is absolutely nothing to suggest this was a terror attack” and that the incident was being investigated as a road accident.
Diversions and road closures are in place.
