State police at Clearfield
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday in the area of Route 53 and Powell Street in Morris Township. During the incident, a 33-year-old Drifting man was traveling north at a high rate of speed. He was attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Powell Street; however, his vehicle spun out in front of a state police patrol vehicle. Upon investigation state police found the man had been consuming alcoholic beverages and he was taken to Clearfield Penn Highlands for blood tests. Charges are currently pending against the man through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Dec. 16 and Friday on the Allport Cutoff in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone used a sling shot and propelled two steel balls at the victim’s 2006 Toyota 4Runner, damaging its driver’s and passenger’s sides. Damage is estimated at $1,000, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on South Third Street near Gordon Alley in Reynoldsville Borough. During the incident, a 46-year-old Reynoldsville man was allegedly observed committing a summary traffic violation and upon investigation he was found to be DUI. Charges are currently pending at this time, state police said.
- A stamp bag of heroin was found Sunday in the 400 block of Third Street in Falls Creek.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking or disposition occurred Thursday on Duncannon Street, Curtis Park, in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly arrived at the victim’s residence and removed seven strands of LED outdoor Christmas lights from displays.
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday in the area of East Presqueisle and North Front streets in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 29-year-old Sandy Ridge man was allegedly observed violating several traffic violations. Further investigation revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol, and he was transported to the Tyrone Hospital for blood tests. Charges are currently pending against the man, state police said.
- An incident of theft occurred Dec. 8 on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a poster made from old newspaper articles and pictures of the Moshannon Building. The poster was located inside the front hall of the building, state police said.
- An accident occurred Monday on U.S. Route 322 eastbound just of west of Shady Dell Road in Worth Township. Further, a deer entered the roadway and into the path of a vehicle operated by Patricia A. Harrity of Allport. Harrity subsequently struck the deer and lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle exited the south berm and traveled over an embankment; it overturned end-over-end before coming to a rest on its roof. State police were assisted at the scene by the Port Matilda Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services. The accident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of simple assault occurred Friday on Hollow Street in Fox Township. During the incident, a 44-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both of Kersey, allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Charges are to be filed against both through the district court, state police said.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about an alleged scam in which the caller posed as an IRS employee. Also, police would like to remind residents not to provide any personal information to unknown callers.
- On Friday, police received a report about the alleged theft of tools that occurred at a State Street business.
- Police made contact with a resident about mud from a driveway being dragged onto Susquehanna Avenue.
- Police received a report about a dog that was struck and killed Friday on Schofield Street. The operator of the vehicle then fled the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute that was verbal in nature between two intoxicated individuals.
- Police received a noise complaint Saturday that occurred at the Curwensville Commons.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a barking dog complaint that occurred on Spruce Street. Further, police located the dog and made contact with its owners who took it inside.
- Police received a report about a fire hydrant leaking water on East Cherry Street. Upon arrival police found the water was due to run-off from a nearby hill.
- Police received a report about a damaged trailer located on South Second Street. Further, police spoke to its operator who advised it was involved in an accident along Interstate 80.
- Police encountered a minor accident along East Market Street, where a vehicle reportedly backed over metal wiring. Police obtained the necessary information and handled it at the scene.
- Police located a loose dog in the area of Williams Street. Further, police were able to catch the dog and return it to its owners.
- Police stopped the operator of a vehicle for a traffic violation along North Second Street. There were several juveniles inside the vehicle who had been consuming alcohol; the operator who was also a juvenile was also found to have been consuming alcohol, police said. The operator was arrested for suspicion of DUI and two others were transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police received a loud music complaint that occurred on South Fifth Street. When police responded, they were unable to detect any noise.
- Police have initiated an investigation into alleged damage to a vehicle along West Fifth Street. Further, police stated that someone used an object to puncture tires, causing them to go flat.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a vehicle stop in East End. As a result, a male was arrested on outstanding warrants and taken to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police handled a minor accident along Textile Street.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with an accident along South Second Street after which the vehicle fled the scene. Police located the vehicle abandoned with heavy damage along South Second Street.
- Police arrested a male for suspicion of DUI after he was stopped along East Locust Street for a traffic violation.
Decatur Township
- Police recovered a cellular phone from Houtzdale Borough. The owner may retrieve the phone at the police station.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespass by motor vehicle in Decatur Township. However, the vehicle was gone from the scene upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment and disorderly conduct that occurred at an Ashland Road residence in Decatur Township. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged disorderly conduct/domestic dispute incident at a Decatur Township business. Upon arrival police found a male and female had engaged in a verbal dispute. The female found a ride home prior to police arrival at the scene.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in Houtzdale Borough. Upon arrival police found a pick-up truck operated by a Morrisdale man exited the roadway and impacted a utility pole, which broke in half. The man wasn’t injured as a result of the accident; however, he was taken into custody for allegedly being under the influence. Charges are currently pending against the man at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on Crooked Sewer Road. Further, police found a vehicle slid on the icy roadway, crossed the centerline and impacted an embankment. The vehicle subsequently overturned, police said.
- Police received a report about an activated burglar alarm at a residence in Osceola Mills Borough. Further, police found it was an accidental alarm, and that they weren’t needed at the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception/bad checks. Further, police were advised someone was given several checks but when attempting to cash them, they were told there were insufficient funds. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an outside fire at the intersection of Copelin Road and Irwin Drive. Upon arrival police found that someone had started the fire and left the scene. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment. Further, a Houtzdale woman was allegedly calling and texting the victim. When police contacted her, the woman agreed to stop her actions.
