Evelyn C. “Evie” Drochak, 69, of Osceola Mills died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Harrisburg.
Born May 3, 1945 in Dover, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona (Zavada-Meek) Drochak.
Ms. Drochak was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. She had worked in the pharmacy department of CVS Pharmacy in Philipsburg. She previously had worked in the pharmacy department of Moshannon Valley Pharmacy in Philipsburg.
She was a 1963 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. She graduated from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
Ms. Drochak’s favorite time of the year was Christmas. She was an amazing decorator and her decorating talents conveyed the true meaning of Christmas to all that knew her.
She also loved and enjoyed Irish singer, Daniel O’Donnell. His music brought great joy and comfort to her throughout her life. The world has lost a glorious woman and Heaven has gained a Christmas angel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Raymond S. Showers.
Ms. Drochak is survived by a sister, Christine Showers of Osceola Mills and her companion, Charles Lockett; a niece, Lynette C. Phillips, her husband, Ronnie Jr. and their son, Ronnie III and his wife, Kortney; a nephew, John Showers, his wife, Lori and children, Greg, Ryan, Abby and Carly; and grandnieces and grandnephews, Riley, Brooke, Alayna and Hunter Phillips.
She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a great-aunt, Betty Baughman of Osceola Mills, who is 97 years young.
A public visitation will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16,, 2015 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
