Dozens of Taliban militants were killed in crackdowns across the country on Friday, the Pakistani military and intelligence officials said.
Security forces killed 32 militants who were moving toward the Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Pakistani forces also killed eight more Taliban militants in southwestern Balochistan province, an intelligence officer said.
The military actions follow this week’s Taliban attack on a school in Peshawar that killed 145 people — 132 of them were children.
