HYDE — The Clearfield Bison wrestling team stormed out to a 37-0 lead over the Punxsutawney Chucks Thursday night at the Weiss Gymnasium to pick up their first dual meet win on the season, 47-19, against three losses.
Three forfeits, two falls, a major decision, and a regular decision staked the Bison to their insurmountable lead.
Picking up the falls were juniors Logan Gilbert at 138 and Tallin Norris at 152, his third fall in four dual meets.
Forfeits were received by Matt Ryan at 106, Hunter Blake at 126, and Josiah McClarren at 132.
At 120, Chance Timko evened his season record at 1-1 with a 13-3 major decision over Zoie Smith.
Senior Noah Cline (6-3) earned a tough 4-2Â decision against Elijah Lambiotte at 145.
State place-winner, and Iowa recruit, Kaleb Young got the Chucks on the scoreboard at 160 with a first period fall.
Punxsy’s Perry Arrington added a major decision at 170 and teammate Travis Perry picked up a win at 182 to set the score at 37-13 Clearfield with three bouts to go.
Undefeated Bison Travis Ogden (8-0) was pushed to the limit for the first time in a dual meet, but still picked up a 10-1 major decision at 195.
At 220, Punxsutawney picked up their final points with a second period fall by Blake Bisousky.
Nate Lash returned the favor with a first period fall at heavyweight to set the final at 47-19.
The Bison are now off until they head to their annual holiday tourney on January 2 and 3 at Meadville for the Tool City Tourney.
