DUBOIS – A public hearing preceded the regular Sandy Township meeting on Monday night. The applicant of the public hearing Joseph Femoyer, who wasn’t present, was requesting an amendment to the Treasure Lake Planned Residential Development (PRD).
The request was to consolidate Lots 33 and 34 in Section 14 of Treasure Lake in Sandy Township. The supervisors voted unanimously to allow consolidation during the regular meeting.
The order for the demolition of another property in Treasure Lake located at Lot 465 in Section 15 was tabled. A public hearing regarding the property already took place, but a decision has been put off until transcripts could be provided and Findings of Fact prepared for the supervisors based upon information provided during the hearing.
During the public comments portion of the meeting, Duane Marshall updated council on the Highland Street Extension disposal injection well petitions. The Environmental Appeals Board (EAB) has consolidated the appeals and given the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) until Jan 23, 2015 to respond.
Marshall thanked the supervisors, and then informed them of, “…another disposal injection well in the area that is proposed to be permitted in Huston Township just north of us here.”
Marshall went on to explain that requests to hold a public hearing must be received by Dec. 29. If not enough requests for the hearing are received, the EPA can cancel the public hearing, which is tentatively scheduled for Jan., 7 at 7 p.m. Click here for more information about the Huston Township disposal injection well.
The 2015 budget was voted on and adopted as follows: Liquid Fuels, $1,811,440; Mountain Run Turn Back, $54,868; Mountain Run Bridge, $500,130; General Fund, $3,993,900; and Municipal Authority, $2,552,600. The total proposed budget was $8,912,938.
