State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Tuesday on the Greenville Pike in Bloom Township. Sally A. Doksa of Reynoldsville was traveling north when her vehicle veered onto the eastern shoulder, where it made contact with loose gravel. Doksa subsequently lost control of her vehicle, which crossed over into the oncoming lane of travel. Doksa attempted to maneuver her vehicle back into its lane but overcorrected, causing it to spin in a clockwise rotation; it spun 180 degrees before striking a mailbox at its 11 o’clock position. The Doksa vehicle continued to spin and struck the embankment along the eastern shoulder; it came to a rest with disabling damage. Doksa sustained minor injuries and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police investigated an alleged sexual assault that occurred Friday outside of an apartment building in Philipsburg Borough. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Nov. 11 and Dec. 2 off of Lone Pine Road in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly broke a 2.5-foot by 3-foot hole into the back of a satellite building owned by Windstream Media.
- An incident of burglary occurred Thursday on Hannah Hill Lane in Taylor Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s garage but was scared off when a neighbor took her dogs outside. There didn’t appear to be anything missing, state police said.
- An accident occurred Sunday on Railroad Street in Philipsburg Borough. Daniel P. Wilkinson Jr. of Hawk Run was traveling west and approaching the intersection with Ninth Street. His vehicle traveled onto the right berm for approximately 115 feet, at which point he swerved left across both westbound and eastbound lanes into a grassy area owned by PennDOT. His vehicle then struck a large pine tree, which broke into two upon impact. The Wilkinson vehicle continued forward another 10 feet before coming to a rest against another tree.
- An incident of harassment occurred Thursday on Ernestville Road in Rush Township. During the incident, a man and woman allegedly engaged in an argument that turned physical. He allegedly struck her several times on the forehead and neck. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Monday or Tuesday on Meredith Road in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the victim’s vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about syringes being found on the roadway in the area of the Shady Grove Trailer Court.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Charges are currently pending, police said.
- Police received a report about a burglar alarm on Pifer Road.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident.
- Police received a report about an alleged phone scam.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft and unlawful transfer of a firearm.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged theft from a motor vehicle in the 200 block of South Avenue. The victim told police that sometime during the overnight hours, someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed more than $200 worth of merchandise. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a residential alarm Monday in the 800 block of West Weber Avenue. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK as it was a false alarm.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from a motor vehicle that occurred on North Main Street. The victim told police that sometime between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 5, someone entered his vehicle and removed more than $200 worth of merchandise. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred Monday at Giant Eagle. Upon arrival police questioned a female who admitted to attempting to steal several items from the store. She also admitted to eating oatmeal cookies, which she hadn’t paid for. The female has been charged for the incident, police said.
- On Monday, police were contacted by a Brockway female in reference to her and her husband being harassed by her ex-boyfriend who resides in DuBois. She alleged that the male had been calling and leaving vulgar and threatening messages. Charges have been filed against the male, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft on Tuesday in the 700 block of Munro Street. The victim told police that someone came onto his front porch and stole a UPS package that contained multiple computer accessories. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
- Police initiated a traffic stop on Tuesday on DuBois Street and determined the operator had a warrant out of the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. The male was taken into custody and released to sheriff deputies; he was also cited for multiple traffic violations, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, a 31-year-old woman reported her brother who lives with her mother had received threats from a known individual. She told police that she was concerned for her mother’s safety. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received two false alarms Tuesday at Italian Oven.
- On Tuesday, a Treasure Lake woman reported that her 48-year-old husband had left the Treasure Lake Ski Lodge on foot and hadn’t returned home. Police searched the area and found the man on foot on Cayman Road. The man was slightly intoxicated but otherwise unharmed, police said. He was transported home and released to his wife.
- On Tuesday, a Sykes Street Extension resident reported that a known 35-year-old Brookville man was banging on the doors and windows of his home. He told police that the man was trying to get in to speak to his 36-year-old daughter, who is his estranged wife. Upon arrival the man had fled the area, and police were informed the woman has an active protection from abuse order against him. Charges are to be filed as a result, police said.
