(CNN) — The Republican-controlled House on Thursday passed a bill that would undo the President’s executive order on immigration. The vote, almost entirely along party lines, was 219 -197. The measure is going nowhere in the Democratic-led Senate, and the White House has threatened to veto it. But GOP leaders hope the vote lets opponents of the President’s action vent their anger and avoids a fight that could risk a government shutdown.
