MOUNT UNION, Ohio — Sophomore 165-pounder Nolan Barger (Clearfield) won two of four matches to mirror the Lycoming showing at the Mount Union Duals Sunday November 22.
Barger pinned Erick Tuck at 6:39 in the Warriors’ 35-10 dismantling of No. 17-ranked Waynesburg and decked Mac Swackhammer in 57 seconds in their 45-9 rout of Muskingum (Ohio).
He came out on the short end of two close decisions, 8-6 to Mount Union’s Nick Hendershot and 4-3 to Thiel’s Brandon Collins.
Lycoming (5-2) lost 34-6 to No. 24 Mount Union and 20-13 to No. 14 Thiel.
Barger is 8-3 with three falls, two of the team’s three technical falls and one major decision.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING
PITTSBURGH — Sophomore Krystal Wriglesworth (Clearfield) qualified for the 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships with a 1:02.72 backstroke leg for the California University of Pennsylvania ‘B’ 400 medley relay team that placed 17th with a 4:17.89 time in the three-day Pitt Invitational at Trees Pool last weekend.
In the 100 back individual event, she lowered her season-best time to 1:02.26 in the bonus heat final, good for 24th place overall among 46 entries. She had stopped the clock at 1:01.43 in the preliminaries.
Wriglesworth also established a season mark for the 200 back with a 2:17.22 effort in the bonus final to claim 20th place after finishing 24th in the prelims in 2:19.84.
She also helped three other Vulcan relay teams earn points with a 28.48-second back split for the ‘B’ medley foursome that placed 12th in 1:52, a 26.07 leadoff leg for the ‘B’ 200 free quartet that finished 15th in 1:44.99 and a 58.11 third leg for the ‘C’ free foursome that wound up 20th in 3:55.14.
California’s men’s and women’s teams combined for 419 points to finish eighth in the 10-team field.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
BRONX, N.Y. — St. Francis University sophomore Rebecca Johnson (Grampian/Curwensville Area H.S.) ran the Van Cortlandt Park 5,000-meter course in 21:18.80 at the 106th Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America/30th Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships Saturday November 21.
She placed 142nd among 178 runners from 18 teams in the season-ending meet.
