State police at Clearfield
- An incident of underage drinking/harassment occurred Saturday on Spruce Street in Bradford Township. During the incident, an 18-year-old Woodland man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at a party. He was also allegedly assaulted sometime during the party. Charges, state police said, will be filed through the district court. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An accident occurred Friday on Albert Run Road west of Salem Road in Boggs Township. Further, Adam Butler of Clearfield was traveling southbound when his vehicle spun out of control. It subsequently exited the right side of the roadway and impacted a utility pole. Butler wasn’t injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, state police said.
- An accident occurred Thursday in the area of Colorado Road and Pheasant Drive in Morris Township. Further, a Philipsburg boy was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle, which left the eastern part of the roadway and struck a tree. The boy, state police said, was wearing his seatbelt and didn’t sustain any injuries; his vehicle was towed from the scene.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on Route 28 in Snyder Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Punxsutawney man was stopped for several summary traffic violations. Further, state police allegedly detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary charges pending blood test results.
- An accident occurred Saturday at the intersection of Moore and Horm Run roads in Washington Township. Further, David P. Thompson of Reynoldsville was traveling southbound and negotiating a downhill, left-hand curve on an ice/snow-covered roadway. His vehicle’s rear tires broke traction, which caused it to rotate counterclockwise. His vehicle subsequently exited its lane, traveled across the southbound shoulder and overturned onto its roof in a large drainage ditch. No injuries were reported and Thompson and his passenger were wearing their seatbelts, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of DUI occurred Thursday on Alternate 220 at Yeager Hollow Road in Huston Township. During the incident, a 51-year-old Julian man was allegedly stopped for an equipment violation and arrested for DUI. Charges, state police said, are currently pending blood test results.
- An incident of indecent assault occurred sometime between June 15, 2013 and Aug. 15 at a residence in Port Matilda Borough. Further, an 11-year-old girl recently alleged she was inappropriately touched in the area of her residence by someone unknown to her. The incident, state police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- An accident occurred Sunday on the Port Matilda Highway at its intersection with East Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, the operator of a vehicle failed to stop for a red light and struck another vehicle traveling westbound at the intersection. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, state police said.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Friday in the 1100 block of East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, police were advised that the victim had placed her purse on the floor on the passenger’s side of her vehicle. When the victim returned, she discovered her purse was missing from her vehicle.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a burning complaint that occurred on West Sixth Street. Further, police were advised about smoke being emitted from an outside wood burner.
- Police received a report from Verizon about a phone that was allegedly removed from the front counter. Upon arrival police were able to view video footage of the incident. Police were also able to identify the individual who turned over the phone. Charges are pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person on East Market Street.
- Police responded to the rear of the courthouse annex for a male who was reportedly sleeping in his vehicle. Police checked on the male who appeared to be OK.
- Police responded to a minor accident on Martin Street. Further, the operator of a vehicle was backing out of a driveway when another vehicle was pulling from an alley. No injuries were reported and towing wasn’t required, police said.
- Police handled alleged incidents of harassment by communications.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with stopping a vehicle that had fled the scene of an accident. Police were able to observe the vehicle along Park Avenue. The investigation was subsequently turned over to Lawrence Township police.
- Police responded to an alarm along Latimere Street. Upon arrival police located a pipe that had busted, causing the alarm to activate.
- Police observed a male who was being disorderly at the Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital. Police discovered the male was intoxicated.
- Police arrested a female for suspicion of DUI along East Walnut Street.
- Police were called to South Fourth Street for a dog that was running loose on the roadway. Police responded to the area but could not locate the dog.
- Police received reports about two, different males who provided false information on background checks for the purchases of firearms at a local gun store. One male, police said, was discovered to hold an active warrant from Blair County. Felony and misdemeanor charges have been filed on both males.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male who was allegedly standing outside of a local establishment and asking for money. Police found that the male had permission from the store to collect donations for disabled children.
- Police received a report about excessive smoke along Clearfield Street. Further, police found that smoke was coming from a garage furnace; however, the burning material was unknown. Information will be turned over to Code Enforcement, police said.
- While on patrol, police observed an unconscious female lying along the roadway and being pulled by another female. Upon making contact, police learned that the unconscious female was intoxicated and had jumped out of a moving vehicle that was being operated by the other female. The unconscious female was transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital and then flown for medical treatment. The female who was driving was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Charges, police said, are pending her level of BAC. While police were at the hospital, they observed a male running toward the medical helicopter that was transporting the unconscious female. The male was stopped and detained by emergency personnel; police found that he was a family member of the female. The male was intoxicated and released to a sober adult. Charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct are being filed on the male.
- A bag of clothes was located and turned into police. The owner can claim the bag at the Clearfield Borough police station.
- While on patrol, police located a suspicious vehicle along East Cherry Street. Upon further investigation, police found that a female who was inside the vehicle was in possession of and using drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Charges are being filed as a result of the incident, police said.
- Police responded to a report about an open door on a vehicle. Everything was found to be OK as the owner had forgotten to close the door upon his arrival home, police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a civil landlord/tenant dispute. Further, police referred the individuals to the appropriate agencies.
- Police received an animal complaint.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident on Mapes and Bowman’s Hill roads.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct/loud noise.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of a credit card.
- Police received a report about people throwing snowballs from the Flegal Road Overpass Bridge onto traffic.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in the area of Flegal and Morrison roads. Further, a vehicle reportedly struck a ditch; however, it was gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Charges, police said, are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications in the Golden Rod area.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications in the Kerr Addition area.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person at the Clearfield Mall. Upon arrival police found the person was having a medical emergency and they were transported to the hospital.
- Police received a report about a burglary incident in the area of Clarendon Avenue in Hyde. Further, someone allegedly stole two ground saws; the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency at the Edgewood Apartments.
- Police received a report about lost cash at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident at the Toasted Monkey.
Decatur Township
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on Walton Street. Upon arrival police found a vehicle struck a deer when it entered the roadway.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot at Sheetz. Upon arrival police assisted the operators with the exchange of information.
- Police received several reports about criminal mischief to mailboxes on Richner and Red School House roads. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an Osceola Mills female after receiving calls from a family member. Further, police found the female to be OK and asked her to contact her family.
- Police received a report about a custody dispute and assisted an Osceola Mills female.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute in Osceola Mills. Upon arrival police located a male on a rear porch and who needed assistance. He was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
- Police have received several reports about speeding and reckless driving. As a result, police would like to remind all motorists to comply with traffic laws; police will issue citations for traffic violations.
DuBois City
- On Saturday, police received a report about a residential alarm in the 400 block of East Scribner Avenue. Upon arrival police searched the area and found everything to be OK at the residence.
- Police received multiple reports about a male who was allegedly carrying an assault rifle and aiming it toward vehicles Saturday in the 600 block of East DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police found that the male was in possession of a paintball gun.
- On Saturday, police received a report about a residential alarm on South Third Street. Upon arrival police found it was a false alarm.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Saturday in the 100 block of East Washington Avenue. The victim told police that he was walking in the alley near the 300 block of West Long Avenue when an unknown male walked up and punched him multiple times in the face. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- While on patrol Sunday, police witnessed the operator of a black Chevrolet Colorado pick-up traveling at a high rate of speed on First Street. Upon turning around and getting behind the pick-up, police observed it swerve and its operator failed to stop at posted stop sign. Police pulled the vehicle over at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and First Street and determined the operator was intoxicated. Police subsequently arrested the operator for DUI and placed him in the Clearfield County Jail.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a male who was allegedly breaking into vehicles in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon investigation police found the suspect was caught inside a vehicle by its owner; when he tried to flee the area, the victim detained the suspect until police arrival. The male, police said, was arrested and taken to the CCJ.
