CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Dec. 1.
Shaw identified the fugitive as David Charles Hamilton Jr., 50, of Beaver Valley Road, Glasgow. Hamilton is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing on July 30.
On June 19, Corporal Robert Straw of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Hamilton. He charged Hamilton with driving under the influence of alcohol; registration and certificate of title required; unauthorized transfer or use of registration; driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked; required financial responsibility; careless driving; occupant protection; and operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, state police were on routine patrol June 14 on Main Street in Coalport Borough. At that time, troopers observed a vehicle traveling with an inoperative headlight.
Upon making contact with the operator, Straw detected signs of impairment and requested that Hamilton perform field sobriety tests. Afterward Hamilton was transported to the Clearfield barracks for chemical breath testing. It was also determined that Hamilton’s operator’s license had previously been suspended.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 30, at which time Hamilton failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Hamilton is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has hazel eyes and black hair.
Anyone with knowledge of Hamilton’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
