Mary E. Miller, 81, of Drifting died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at her residence. Born Feb. 16, 1933 in Shiloh, she was the daughter of the late David A. and Fama Mae Lansberry Maines.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She had worked at General Cigar for 33 years. Mrs. Miller was also a care nurse at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center and the former Philipsburg Hospital.
She was married to Duaine Miller, who preceded her in death in February of 1989.
She’s survived by a daughter, Linda Kurtz of Belleville; a son, David O. Miller of Drifting; two sisters, Betty Maines and Rebecca Luzier, both of Shiloh; two grandchildren, Jonathan D. Miller of Culpepper, Va. and Michael Kurtz of Mechanicsburg; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a grandson, Dale Kurtz; a sister, Avanell Hullihen; and two brothers, Fred Maines and Francis Maines.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Kylertown, with Pastor Earl R. Shawley officiating. Burial will be in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
