Nedra Westover, 84, of rural LaJose died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Haida, Hastings. Born July 15, 1930 in Westover, she was a daughter of Charles and Margaret (Gaynor) McCulley.
She married Ned Westover on July 11, 1947 in Braddock; he preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1993.
She retired from the Harmony Area School District, where she was a cook for many years. She loved camping, cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed large family gatherings, such as reunions, vacations and holidays.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by three children, Edward and his wife, Sally and Ronald and his wife, Karen, both of rural LaJose, and Judy Hamm and her husband, Lou of Madera.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Norman Westover and his wife, Bernie of Punxsutawney, Jesse Hamm and his fiancée, Tammy of Brisbin and Kristy Adams of rural LaJose; her great-grandchildren, Amber Baker of Punxsutawney and Chaya Hamm of Ginter; and her great-great-grandchildren, Arianna and Emaylnn Baker of Punxsutawney.
She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Michael, Nick, Brittany and Reese, all of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Bertha Haines of Bellefonte and Twila Straw of Berwindsdale; and two brothers, Melvin “Boz” McCulley of Hastings and Robert McGarvey of Hollentown.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her granddaughter, Melinda Hamm; her sister Kate; her brother, Bud and her step-father, Clarence Troxell.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona, with funeral services to follow with Pastor Robert Kephart.
Burial will be in the Westover Cemetery.
