10 Keys to Healthy Aging Workshops

You can take ownership of your health and attend educational workshops to learn about the 10 Keys to healthy aging and the many no-cost and low-cost preventative services provided by Medicare to help keep you healthy.
The free workshops are taught by certified health ambassadors and APPRISE counselors and will begin Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (closed Nov. 28) at the Curwensville Community Center.

At 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at the DuBois City Park Amphitheater, Brighten the Night will start the Christmas season. You can welcome the arrival of Santa, witness the lighting of the DuBois Christmas tree, sign a card for the troops and make your own Christmas craft. Also, you can receive a 4-inch by 6-inch photo with Santa when you bring a food donation or suggested cash donation of $3. All food and money will go toward a local food pantry.

On Saturday, Nov. 22, Treasure Lake will host the first-ever Turkey Trot at Captain Kidd Park from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. There will be three age groups: 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-11 years. If you have younger children, feel free to participate with a stroller. There will be cookies and cider available and a special guest will make an appearance. It’s “Time for Turkeys.” Thanksgiving is right around the corner. You can come and learn about the wild bird that Benjamin Franklin wanted to be the national symbol.
