State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Friday on the Frenchville – Karthaus Highway in Covington Township. Brian L. Askey of Houtzdale was traveling eastbound when a deer emerged from the south berm. The Askey vehicle subsequently struck the deer with its right, front fender.
- An accident occurred Thursday on Morgan Run Road in Boggs Township. Further, a 16-year-old Stafford, Va. boy was traveling southbound and attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The boy lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently crossed the northbound lane and impacted a rock wall.
- An incident of criminal mischief/scattering rubbish occurred Thursday on Lake Street in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly cut the gas line for a residence and threw a glass bottle on the driveway. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Thursday on the Rich Highway south of Slab Run Road in Sandy Township. Further, a 56-year-old Penfield man was stopped for summary vehicle code violations. State police found the man to be intoxicated and arrested him on DUI and related charges. The investigation, state police said, is currently pending blood test results.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on Coal Hollow Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a known 17-year-old Kersey boy allegedly put two condoms with obscene messages written on them on the victim’s door knob and in their mailbox. The boy was cited for harassment through the district court.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Thursday on Coal Hollow Road in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged a tire on the victim’s 1995 Jeep Cherokee. Damage, state police said, has been estimated at $100.
- An incident of retail theft occurred Tuesday at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Ridgway woman allegedly removed $32.78 worth of merchandise without paying. Charges, state police said, were filed through the district court.
- An incident of retail theft occurred Nov. 14 at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Ridgway woman allegedly removed $14.03 worth of merchandise without paying. Charges, state police said, were filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at Pennsylvania Grain Processing.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male who had left Clearfield Penn Highlands. The male, police said, was found to be OK and transported to a residence.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on North Third Street, where a green Jeep struck a parked car.
- Police responded to a noise complaint on Turnpike Avenue. Further, police made contact with a male and advised him to turn down his music.
Lawrence Township
- Police assisted with a psychological emergency.
- Police assisted an officer with Clearfield County Probation at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments. The officer, police said, determined a male had violated his probation and requested police to transport him to the jail.
Sandy Township
- A 71-year-old Treasure Lake man reported that he received a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from the government on Wednesday. He said he hung up immediately due to believing it was a scam.
- On Wednesday, police assisted emergency personnel with a person in a vehicle parked at the DuBois Mall. Police said it was suspected that the man had been using an illegal substance; he was agitated but not aggressive and he refused medical treatment. Police indicated that a friend was contacted to take the man home.
- A false alarm occurred Wednesday at the Brady Street Beer Distributers.
- On Thursday, a South Eighth Street resident reported that a neighbor in his apartment building was being loud and disturbing the peace. Police located the 56-year-old neighbor and handled the situation without incident.
- On Thursday, police received a report about a dog that was left in a vehicle in the Save A Lot parking lot. Police checked the dog, which appeared to be OK and not in distress.
- On Thursday, employees of Snappy’s Convenience Store reported that a 38-year-old man who was in the store for a long period threatened to harm himself. Police spoke to the man who had gotten off the bus on his way to Florida and requested emergency personnel to transport him to Penn Highlands for an evaluation.
- Police responded to a Treasure Lake residence for a reported overdose on Thursday. Further, a 32-year-old man was taken to Penn Highlands for treatment.
Decatur Township
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly walking while under the influence in the Peebles Plaza. Upon arrival police searched the area but couldn’t locate the male.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute. Upon arrival police found a known male arrived to remove his belongings and the caller didn’t want him to be there. Police said the male removed his belongings and left without incident.
- Police assisted with a reported drug overdose. Further, a female was transported for medical treatment.
- Police assisted with a psychological emergency. At the scene, police found a female was in need of mental health assistance. She was transported for treatment.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in the McDonald’s parking lot. Police assisted with the exchange of information.
- Police have received several complaints about speeding and reckless driving. Police would like to remind all drivers to obey traffic laws and police will issue citations to violators.
