State police at DuBois
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred Friday on posted property near Helvetia Dam in Brady Township. During the incident, the operator of a dark-colored sports utility vehicle allegedly traveled onto the posted property without approval. It was noted by state police that the operator allegedly traveled into areas unauthorized for a motor vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime Nov. 5-6 on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly broke the panel of a garage door and then removed approximately 10-12 vehicle batteries before fleeing the scene.
- An accident occurred Friday on U.S. Route 219 east of Pine Acres Road in Snyder Township. Carla J. Young of Brockway was traveling south when her vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway and impacted with a utility pole head-on. Young was wearing her seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. Young was cited for the accident.
- The investigation is continuing into a fire that occurred Nov. 6 at Bricen Towing in Huston Township. Further, a fire started inside a wrecked freightliner truck that had been previously towed from an accident scene.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Nov. 5-6 on South Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly flattened the victim’s vehicle tire, which was found with a screw in it. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Friday on South Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 31-year-old Philipsburg woman allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with her boyfriend. She became upset and allegedly started to throw food items onto the sidewalk and roadway in front of her residence. The woman, state police said, was cited for the incident.
- On Saturday, a 19-year-old Hysham, Mont., man was pulled over for suspected criminal activity in the area of Route 53 and Water Street in Philipsburg Borough. Upon further investigation, he was allegedly found in possession of prescription pills that weren’t prescribed for him. State police noted that he was also allegedly found in possession of suspected marijuana. Charges, state police said, are being filed through the district court.
- A protection from abuse violation occurred Nov. 5 on Locust Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 25-year-old Wallaceton man allegedly drove multiple times around the block where the victim was standing at. The man also allegedly took a picture of the victim and spoke to her.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Thursday on Main Street in Fox Township. During the incident, a 44-year-old Kersey man allegedly started screaming and making unreasonable noise, which caused an annoyance and alarmed the victims. Charges, state police said, are to be filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police were dispatched to a Third Street business around 2 a.m. Saturday for an activated alarm. Further, police cleared the building and found everything to be OK.
- Around 1 a.m. Saturday, police were notified about a parking complaint and observed a violation. As a result, police issued a parking ticket for the violation.
- Around 5:30 p.m. Friday, police initiated an investigation into an alleged break-in at a Boyer Street apartment complex. One tenant, police said, had items removed from their apartment. Police also noted that two, other apartment doors were damaged while someone had allegedly attempted to gain entry but was unable to.
- At approx. 3 p.m. Friday, police received a report about damage that allegedly occurred to a vehicle while it was parked along Spruce Street. Further, someone had allegedly broken a wiper off of the vehicle and tossed it onto the ground.
- Sometime between Nov.4 and Friday, someone allegedly removed a railroad coal stove from the front porch of a Cumberland Street residence and attempted to remove other items. The owner, police said, was able to locate the stove in the back yard of the residence. Police will be proving extra patrols to the area, and residents are asked to call police if they observe any suspicious activity in that area.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with an alleged disturbance around 1:30 p.m. Friday on Shaw Street. As a result, one male was arrested on outstanding warrants issued by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted at the scene.
- Around 11 a.m. Friday, police responded to a vehicle accident on Cemetery Road. Upon arrival the vehicles were leaving the scene, as the operators involved had already exchanged the appropriate information.
- Police responded to Park Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Friday, where an elderly male was walking towards town and seemed to be disoriented. Upon arrival police searched the area but were unable to locate the male.
- At around 2 a.m. Sunday, police received a report about an alleged harassment incident that occurred over the phone. Police attempted to call the victim back, but there wasn’t any response.
- While on patrol around 1 a.m. Sunday, police encountered an incident along Reed Street in which a male was allegedly refusing to leave the premises after being informed to do so. Police spoke to the male who left as requested.
- Police were dispatched for a traffic problem shortly after 12 a.m. Sunday around the area of South Fourth and Margaretta streets. Upon arrival police located large trucks that were being used to move tenants into a nearby residence. Police advised the individuals of the complaint and requested them to move the vehicles.
- Police responded to a parking complaint along Park Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
- Police received a report about a child who allegedly threw a rock at a truck, causing damage, and who then fled to a residence. Police located the child and gathered the necessary information.
Curwensville Borough
- A New Millport man was arrested for operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on Friday. The operator, police said, forced several motorists to travel off of the roadway on Route 879.
Sandy Township
- On Friday, a 20-year-old DuBois man reported that unknown persons from Chicago had hacked into his bank account and made six, different charges, totaling $654.53.
- On Friday, a 54-year-old woman was checking a property that she owned on Lundgren Road when she found someone had shot a window in the vacant house.
- A vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Titusville man was unable to stop to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Johnstown man that was stopped at a red light Friday on the Bee Line Highway. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- On Saturday, vehicles driven by a 54-year-old Luthersburg man and a 44-year-old Mayport woman backed into each other in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- On Sunday while a truck was stopped on Quarry Avenue with its hazards on, a vehicle driven by a 44-year-old South Main Street woman traveled down the road and swerved, hitting it. After impact the vehicle continued traveling through a yard and then left the scene. The truck’s operator, police said, followed the woman and stopped her vehicle on Guy Avenue. Upon arrival police made contact with the woman and could detect the odor of alcohol. Police said that the woman failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw.
- A false alarm occurred Sunday at Lowe’s.
- A 35-year-old DuBois man reported that while his vehicle was parked at Save A Lot on Sunday, someone entered and ransacked it. He told police that they took a pack of cigarettes and some loose change.
- A 40-year-old Punxsutawney woman was charged with retail theft after employees of Dollar General allegedly caught her putting items in her purse and attempting to leave without paying for them on Sunday.
Decatur Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception. Further, a resident told police they paid for work to their home, which wasn’t completed.
- Police received a report about a child custody dispute, which was resolved without any arrests.
- Police received a report about a missing or stolen green Angry Bird purse. The victim told police she was at an Osceola Mills business when she noticed it was gone.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications. Further, a male told police that he and his girlfriend were being harassed by a known male. Police advised the actor to cease his actions.
- Police received a report about found property located in Osceola Mills. Further, police contacted the owner who will retrieve his property.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred in Osceola Mills. Further, a vehicle operated by a known female struck a parked vehicle and then fled the scene. The female, police said, was cited for several traffic violations.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in Osceola Mills.
- Police received several reports about moving violations in Decatur Township and Osceola Mills and Houtzdale Boroughs.
