ST. MARYS – A fire destroyed a Mack truck on Monday at Mersen, located on Trout Run Road, in St. Marys, reported the state police at Ridgway.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Crystal Fire Department investigated the fire. The fire destroyed a Mack truck that was connected to a box trailer and parked at the loading dock at Mersen, state police said.
The fire originated in the engine compartment and extended into the trailer; it continued through the trailer and caused moderate external and slight internal damage to the factory, state police said, noting damage is estimated at $350,000.
The cause of the fire was accidental in nature and related to the truck’s electrical system, according to state police. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
