Donald J. Klemick, 85, of Curwensville died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 8, 1928 in Shamokin, he was the son of Charles and Anna (Scotko) Klemick.
Mr. Klemick was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a federal coal mine inspector and worked for the Department of Labor for 20 years upon his retirement.
He was a past commander at the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6 and a past member of the Clearfield B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 540 and the Curwensville America Legion Post No. 505. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He’s survived by his wife, Jean Klemick of Curwensville and two daughters, Donna Thomas and her husband, Arthur of Shamokin and Denise Hess and her husband, Michael of Sunbury.
He’s survived by his step-children, Glenn E. Ogden and his wife, Kathy of Cleveland, Ohio and Marsha D. Hughes and her husband, Jerry of Clearfield; one grandson; six step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
He’s also survived by two brothers, Charles Klemick and his wife, Mary of State College and Richard Klemick and his wife, Ren of Dauphin.
Mr. Klemick was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Deloris Klemick; a sister, Clara Stellar; and a step-son, Dr. Timothy Ogden.
At the request of Mr. Klemick, there will be no public services or visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
