Eleanor M. (Schickling) Albert, 72, of West Decatur died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born Aug. 7, 1942 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Fred and Angeline (Wisor) Schickling.
While born in Clearfield, she and her husband moved to New Jersey, where she attended school at night at Ryder University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in 1985.
While attending classes, Mrs. Albert worked full-time at Ethicon in Bridgewater, NJ and continued employment there for more than 40 years.
She battled rheumatoid arthritis for many years. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her will was only superceded by the love for her family.
She endured years of pain that no one should have to go through. However, she did it with grace and style, as she did everything. She may now rest in peace.
She’s survived by her loving husband, Fred Albert; her daughter, Trudy Martz and her husband, James; a granddaughter, Krystal Godden and a great-granddaughter, Raelynn Godden. She’s also survived by two brothers, Kenny and Eugene Schickling and a brother-in-law, William Albert.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Curwensville, with the Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 204, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, is in charge of arrangements.
