Anthony J. “Chook” Podliski, 67, of Madera died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Penn Highlands Health Care in Clearfield. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Born May 23, 1947 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Michael A. and Elizabeth M. (Orloski) Podliski. Mr. Podliski was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Houtzdale.
He served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the L.O.O. Moose No. 327 in Houtzdale; the American Legion in Houtzdale; the B.P.O. Elks No. 1173 in Philipsburg; the IUOE Local No. 66 in Pittsburgh; and the Croatian Club in Smoke Run.
He was a retired operating engineer for Local No. 66. He was a 1965 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
Mr. Podliski is survived by a son, Patrick A. Podliski of Osceola Mills and two sisters, Elizabeth “Lisa” Saupp and her husband, Richard of Port Matilda and Barbara O’Connell and her husband, Thomas of Diamondhead, Miss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills with the Rev. Father Robert Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
