Josephine B. Folmar, 88, of Hyde died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at the UPMC Altoona Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 3, 1926 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Edmund and Emma (Hugney) Plubell.
Mrs. Folmar was previously employed at the former Kent’s Sportswear and McGregor’s Sportswear.
She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America Court 498. She volunteered with the St. Francis Church Bereavement Committee and at the Clearfield Hospital Cottage Gift Shop.
She is survived by three children, Janice Linberg and her husband, Jon of Fairfield, Ohio, Thomas Folmar of Hyde and Mark Folmar and his wife, Kim of Clearfield; four grandsons, Chris Linberg and his wife, Jessica of Florida, Nick Linberg and his wife, Kristina of Ohio, Ben Folmar of Clearfield and Ryan Folmar of Woodland; four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Keegan, Landen and Addison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Folmar, on Oct. 14, 2001 and whom she wed July 14, 1951 in Frenchville. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ansley and four brothers, Victor, Willard, Wilfred ‘Windy’ and Eugene Plubell.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. followed by the rosary at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield.
