Ruth C. Thunberg, 96, of Reynoldsville died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at her residence.
Born Feb. 24, 1918 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Jennie (Pearson) Thunberg.
She retired from Bell of Pennsylvania after 33 years of service. After retirement she enjoyed babysitting for various families in the area.
She was a life member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church in DuBois. She was also a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers and the American Bible Society.
She was cared for by her grandson, R. Thomas Shepherd. She’s also survived by three other grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her special niece and nephew, Sandra McCauslin and Robert McCauslin.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Shepherd; two sisters, Esther McCauslin and Lorraine Frick and two brothers, Morris and Marvin Thunberg.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Cressman officiating.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
