Michael N. Maines, 49, of Grampian died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Born May 18, 1965 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Burton L. Maines and Nancy J. Rowles Maines of West Decatur.
Mr. Maines was previously employed by Simbeck Body Shop in Grampian.
The family would like to thank everyone in the community, especially Grampian, for helping Mr. Maines over the past years while he fought disease.
He’s survived by a son, Michael J. Maines of Grampian and a granddaughter, Jordan “Sweetpea” of Curwensville.
Mr. Maines is survived by three sisters, Robin L. Lumadue and her husband, Don of Bigler, Barbara Timko of Clearfield and Michele M. Swisher and her husband, Joe of Spring Valley.
He’s survived by four brothers, Burton T. Maines and his wife, Ruby of Pine Top, Ronald L. Maines and his wife, Sandy of Sanborn, Brian D. Maines and his wife, Cathy of Bigler and Bruce A. Maines and his companion, Cassie of Spring Valley.
Mr. Maines is also survived by several nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Sean Smith officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Nancy J. Maines, 3477 Long Run Rd., West Decatur, PA 16878 for the continuing education of Michael J. Maines.
