CLEARFIELD – Are you interested in learning more about dementia? Do you know someone who has dementia or are you a caregiver for an individual with dementia?
The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library and Penn Highlands Healthcare are offering a program to answer these questions and many more during National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness month.
Join the Shaw Public Library and Penn Highlands DuBois for the first program of the Health Literacy Awareness Series: At a Loss – Dementia. The program will be held on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Lori Rancik, registered nurse and case manager at Penn Highlands Dubois, is the featured speak for the evening.
In this overview program, attendees will learn the myths surrounding dementia and become educated on the facts about the disease. Rancik will also share information about finding care and the available community resources to help support those dealing with a dementia diagnosis.
Registration for this program is required. The deadline to confirm attendance is Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
This program supports the Health Literacy of the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative and is sponsored by Shaw Public Library and Penn Highlands DuBois.
