Miriam M. Bailey, 99, of Rockton died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 25, 1915 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of the late Blake and Lida (Middleton) Swatsworth.
On June 16, 1932, she married Clifford Bailey. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1983.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Gelnett Memorial Church. She was a past member of the Home Camp Grange No. 1222 and the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Bailey enjoyed crocheting and watching Fox news.
She’s survived by her children, Robert Bailey and his wife, Ruth, Dixie Horn and Pat Marley and her husband, Robert, all of Rockton; Nancy Conrad and her husband, Blaine of Alton, Mo.; Thomas Bailey and his wife, Martha of Norton, Ohio; and Pastor Sherman Bailey and his wife, Pam of Akron, Ohio.
She’s also survived by two sisters, Dolly Beckman of Olanta and Mary Lou Straw of Tonawanda, NY; a brother, Clifford “Buck” Swatsworth of DuBois; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman and Norman Swatsworth; a sister, Rosamond “Bud” Bailor; a son-in-law, Mike Horn; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Bailey; and a granddaughter, Tricia Charles.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home with her son, Pastor Sherman Bailey, officiating. Burial will follow in Rockton Cemetery.
