State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday in the area of Route 322 and Sandy Ridge Trail in Rush Township. Further, a 24-year-old male was allegedly stopped and determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges, state police said, will be filed through the district court and are pending blood test results.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Thursday at the intersection of Philips and Warwick streets in Philipsburg Borough. Further, Steveann V. Suhoney of Philipsburg was traveling southbound when she stopped in the middle of the roadway. Her vehicle started to drift backwards and off of the roadway; it subsequently side-swiped a utility pole on the east berm, causing damage. Suhoney fled the scene without notifying police or the utility company.
- An incident of theft occurred Sept. 24 on North Sixth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly took a black 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe from the victim’s driveway. The vehicle, state police said, is missing the driver’s side front hub cap, has scratches on the trunk lid and a dent in the roof. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- The investigation is continuing into the theft of a rifle that occurred sometime between June 1, 2012 and Aug. 31, 2012 at a Walker Hollow Road residence in Union Township. The victim contacted state police and reported that his .22-caliber pump rifle had been stolen about two years prior. Also, he noted to state police that he hesitated reporting the rifle as stolen until he could be certain that he hadn’t misplaced it somewhere.
State police at Ridgway
- An accident occurred Sunday on Boot Jack Road south of Rocky Top Road in Ridgway Township. Brian A. Hamilton of Ridgway was traveling south when he fell asleep. His vehicle crossed into the northbound lane before exiting the roadway and overturning onto its roof in a wooded area. Hamilton sustained minor injuries and was wearing his seatbelt; he was also cited for the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by the Ridgway Fire Department and Ridgway Ambulance Services.
Lawrence Township
- An alleged retail theft incident occurred on Supercenter Drive.
- Police assisted with an overdose incident on Valley View Drive.
- A traffic complaint occurred on the Clearfield – Glen Richey Highway.
- A caller with a civil, landlord-tenant dispute was referred to the appropriate agencies.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone on Clark Street.
- Suspicious activity was observed in the area of Lawrence Avenue.
- A suspicious vehicle was reported at a local business in Hyde. Upon investigation police found everything to be OK.
- An alleged incident of disorderly conduct occurred at a residence on Riverview Road. Further, police transported an individual to the hospital for further evaluation.
- A vehicle was disabled in the Arby’s parking lot.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout.
- A suspicious vehicle was reported at a local business along Route 879. Further, police made contact with the driver and found everything to be OK.
- A traffic complaint occurred in the Glen Richey area. Upon arrival police checked the area but couldn’t locate anyone.
- A psychological emergency occurred on Washington Avenue.
- An alleged domestic dispute occurred on Turnpike Avenue. Further, police separated the individuals involved with the dispute.
- An individual was apprehended after a warrant service on Turnpike Avenue.
- Drug paraphernalia was allegedly found at the Dollar Tree.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual on Park Avenue Extension. Further, police found everything to be OK.
- A call was received about suspicious persons and police found they were selling food door-to—door.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual in the Mount Joy area.
- Curwensville Borough police were assisted with an incident involving a suspicious vehicle.
- An alleged incident of criminal mischief occurred in the Hyde area.
- Police assisted Mobile Crisis with a complaint.
Curwensville Borough
- An accident occurred Friday at the intersection of Filbert and South streets. Further, the operator of a vehicle pulled from South Street into the path of another vehicle traveling south on Filbert Street. No injuries were reported, said police.
- An alleged incident of trespass occurred Thursday at a Filbert Street residence.
- A domestic dispute allegedly occurred Sunday on Naulton Road. The dispute, police said, was verbal in nature.
DuBois City
- A fight allegedly involved three women Friday in the 300 block of Knarr Street. After that electronics were allegedly stolen from a residence, said police. Police have a suspect in relation to this incident.
- A 40-year-old DuBois man was arrested Friday for public drunkenness. Further, police allegedly observed him staggering along Liberty Boulevard.
- A 22-year-old DuBois man was arrested Saturday for public drunkenness. Further, police allegedly observed him staggering along Parkway Drive.
- A 23-year-old DuBois man was arrested for DUI on Saturday after being stopped for traffic violations. Further, police observed the man’s vehicle swerving and crossing the centerline. The man, police said, was taken into custody for blood testing and charges are currently pending at this time.
Sandy Township
- A 37-year-old Bessemer man was arrested for allegedly driving while DUI after police pulled him over for driving erratically on Maple Avenue on Friday. He failed field sobriety testing and was subsequently transported for a legal blood draw. Charges, police said, are pending at this time.
- On Friday, a 38-year-old DuBois man reported that while he was delivering medication to a Hanes Drive residence, a large dog attacked him, causing his shirt to rip and leaving bite marks on his arm. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- A false alarm occurred Friday at an East DuBois Avenue residence.
- On Friday, employees of the Shoe Depot reported seeing a known 33-year-old DuBois woman take her shoes off and put on a new pair of shoes and then leave the store without paying for them. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- A 22-year-old DuBois woman reported that her wallet was taken after she had set it down in Wal-Mart on Friday. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Friday, a 31-year-old DuBois woman reported that she is continually receiving unwanted text messages from a 24-year-old man who she met on Facebook. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- Treasure Lake Security reported that a 53-year-old man who appeared to be intoxicated left the guard station and started walking north of Route 255. Police located the man who was intoxicated with a bag of beer and walking into traffic. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield County Jail due to a probation violation.
- An alleged domestic disturbance occurred Saturday at a Tozier Avenue residence. Further, a 51-year-old man reported that his 36-year-old girlfriend kicked him in the leg and hit him in the face several times. Both were intoxicated, police said, noting the woman was uncooperative. At one point, police said the woman locked herself inside the residence, causing them to forcibly enter. Police also noted that the woman’s two children were asleep at the time; arrangements were made by police for them to stay with relatives.
- A fight allegedly occurred Saturday on Dolphin Head Road in Cayman Landing. Upon arrival police located two men who admitted there had been a fight earlier. Police were advised that no one had been injured, and the situation was handled without incident.
- A men’s wallet was found at Perkins on Saturday.
- On Saturday, Walmart employees reported that a 28-year-old Circle Road man put on a sweatshirt that was for sale in the store and left the store without paying for it. Charges, police said, are currently pending at this time.
- On Saturday, Wal-Mart employees reported that a 41-year-old Reynoldsville woman took a pair of boots from the store and then went to the service desk to return them. Charges, police said, are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male loitering in front of Snappy’s on Saturday. Further, police located him and handled the situation without incident.
- On Sunday, PennDOT barriers on Route 255 were damaged by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Sher De Lin Road man. The man, police said, lost control of his vehicle in the construction zone and then left the scene. Police were able to locate the man through evidence left at the scene; charges are currently pending at this time.
- A truck driver backed into another truck when he was trying to park in the Pilot parking lot on Sunday. No injuries were reported but two Jeeps, which were loaded on the parked truck, were damaged, said police.
- On Sunday, a 54-year-old DuBois man reported that his yellow Mustang was parked near the Tax Collector’s office when another vehicle hit it, causing damage. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
