CLEARFIELD – A wanted fugitive has voluntarily surrendered, according to Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Mark Allen Lefebvre, 26, of Schoolhouse Road, Munson. Lefebvre was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on Sept. 22.
On May 29, Trooper Dennis Peters of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Lefebvre. He charged him with theft by unlawful taking; receiving stolen property; theft from a motor vehicle; corruption of minors; criminal conspiracy; criminal mischief; and criminal trespass.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 6, state police received a report about a theft incident at a strip mine site in Morris Township. Upon investigation it was found that Lefebvre and two others had unlawfully removed numerous metal items with an approximate value of $1,800.
It was also determined that several of the metal items had been forcibly removed from equipment located on the property. This, state police said, caused approximately $800 worth of damage.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 2, at which time all charges were held for court. On Sept. 4, Lefebvre failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that on Sept. 23, Lefebvre voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. Lefebvre is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance with this case.
