About Chef Char Morse
Morse grew up in a Midwest farming community and has always had a passion for cooking with home-grown and farm-raised ingredients. She believes fresh is best for cooking and there is nothing like a slow-cooked meal.
As a busy mom, she realizes that sometimes ingredients from a box or a jar can help speed along a recipe when a full schedule dominates over kitchen time.
Morse enjoys her travels with the Taste of Home Cooking School and loves to put together tasty dishes on stage in different towns across the nation.
However, her favorite place to cook is back home in the kitchen on her hobby farm in Whitehall, Mich., where she prepares pre-game meals and post-practice dinners for her sons who play football for the Whitehall Vikings.
Morse received her culinary training at the Culinary Institute of Michigan, in addition to two Bachelor of Science degrees in applied biology and biotechnology from Ferris State University.
When she is not cooking and performing for the Taste of Home Cooking Schools, she can either be seen making recipes for a live television segment on an ABC-affiliate station in Grand Rapids, Mich., or found among food scientists in the product development labs of a well-known baby food company.
Morse believes that the greatest cooks utilize and incorporate a little science, a little art and a lot of love into each dish.
