CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville’s Oktoberfest Family Festival will take place Oct. 4-5 at the Community Center located at 11 Stadium Dr.
The event schedule for Saturday is: 8 a.m., 5K registration; 9 a.m., 5K run/walk; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., art and artisans show; 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., live auction; 1 p.m. – 7 p.m., pig roast; 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., pumpkin decorating; 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., hayrides; 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., baking contest; 5 p.m. – 6 p.m., pie eating contest; 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., adult dance/”Just Us;” and 9 p.m., fireworks display.
The event schedule for Sunday is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., brunch (fuel-aide benefit); 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., to be determined; 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., Heather Olson; 2 p.m. – 3 p.m., A Day Awaits; and 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., Community Choir.
The Oktoberfest Family Festival will feature an array of merchants, blood pressure checks, educational and firemen’s displays, face painting, family relay games, Penn Highland flu shots, helium balloons, kids storytelling and regional artisans.
Also, a Halloween “Spooktacular” will take place on Oct. 25 at the Community Center. It will be a costume contest and party for infants through children in the sixth grade.
The “Spooktacular” will follow “Trunk or Treat” at Chidboy’s until 5:30 p.m. Judging will take place at 4:30 p.m. and awards will be presented afterward.
