CLEARFIELD – Taste of Home, the world’s most popular recipe and entertaining magazine, will bring its national program, the Taste of Home Cooking School, to Clearfield on Saturday.
The cooking school, which is featured in about 350 select communities each year, will be held at the Expo II Building at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. The event is being hosted by Visit Clearfield County, GantDaily.com and the Fair & Park Board.
Taste of Home’s culinary expert, Chef Char Morse, will present cooking tips and tricks while demonstrating step-by-step seasonal recipes.
Attendees will experience exciting recipe demonstrations using ingredients that are easily found at the local grocery store. Best of all, these dishes are submitted by home cooks from across the country.
In addition to the cooking class, there will be pre-show exhibits with local vendors, door prizes, food and other entertainment.
More than $2,000 worth of prizes will be given away during the live demonstration, including a professional series 200 Vitamix blender donated by the Vitamix Corp., a Trip for Two to New York City to see the Rockette’s Christmas Spectacular, Home Décor by Mikasa and more.
A limited quantity of tickets remain for the Taste of Home Cooking School and can be reserved for will-call pick-up by visiting the show Web site on gantnews.com or calling 814-765-5256. Tickets are $15 each.
Tickets are available at the Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery in Curwensville and its outlet store at the Clearfield Mall and at Wrapped on Washington Avenue in Hyde.
All attendees will receive a gift bag, including the Taste of Home magazine, coupons and other goodies from participating local and national companies. Attendees are asked to bring a canned good item to donate to the “It’s a good day for a food drive” campaign to benefit area food banks.
