CLARION – A new microbrewery and restaurant, the Clarion River Brewing Company, has nestled into the heart of Clarion. It will provide high quality food and beverages sourced from local farms, according to a company press release.
The Sixth and Main Market is currently open for business at 600 Main St. in Clarion. Throughout the next year, company representatives will re-design the market to accommodate 56 seats and to introduce a unique dinner menu that includes a kid’s menu and daily specials.
Craft beer and Pennsylvania wine will also be served on the market side but with no need to enter the brewpub.
According to company representatives, microbreweries are very different from the stereotypical bar. “All alcohol products served inside are handcrafted on the premises, meaning we will not serve hard liquor, imported wines or mainstream beers.
“Our microbrewery will feature four flagship brews to start, which will be brewed year-around, and a great number of seasonal brews, which will be brewed once or twice a year.”
The Clarion River Brewing Company is a place for adults with an appreciation for handcrafted beer paired with specialty menu items created by Executive Chef, Scott Jordan. “Currently, there is not a restaurant/brewpub that provides this type of ambience, highlights Pennsylvania’s great outdoors and Clarion County’s history,” stated company representatives.
“The borough needs a place where people 21 and over can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the establishment.” The pub will also provide live entertainment featuring musical artists from the area.
The company’s deli is open and will continue to operate during lunchtimes with the opening of the brewery and pub. It will also continue to cater events on-site and the restaurant will be available to be rented out for parties, celebrations or other events.
Its specialty goods market will continue to operate, with a small selection of gourmet food lines. It will continue to carry product lines from the Bathtub, such as handmade soaps, lotions and children’s books and toys.
“The Clarion River Brewing Company will be a people-friendly restaurant and microbrewery. It will provide comfortable surroundings for people to bring family and friends,” stated company representatives.
“It will not matter whether our guests are local or from out-of-town, all will be made to feel comfortable. Customers will find a love of the outdoors portrayed, friendliness, warmth and a special appreciation for the history and all the activities relating to this area.
“There needs to be a spot in town that stimulates the urge in all of us to get out and enjoy the natural surroundings, like historic Cook Forest and the Clarion River. It’s a place that will take you back to a simpler time.”
