The state Department of Environmental Protection has released Pennsylvania well production data for the first half of 2014, showing unconventional wells produced 1.9 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas, up almost 12 percent from the last half of 2013. Barrels of condensate and oil also increased.
This month, Matt Henderson, shale gas asset manager, Community & Economic Development, Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research (MCOR), will review the recently released figures, providing an in-depth analysis of the data and what it means for the Commonwealth and nation in general.
Henderson states, “Production from the Marcellus continues to outpace even the most optimistic expectations. In just a few years, production from the Marcellus now accounts for over 20 percent of the U.S. supply.
“The webinar will look at production figures for 2014 with a deeper look at production from other formations in the Commonwealth. We will also look at the increased per well production due to advanced technologies being employed by the industry.”
The educational webinar will run from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Thursday. While free, registrations for the webinars are necessary. All can go to the Penn State Extension Natural Gas Events page to register and to find out more information for each upcoming webinar.
