Dallas Gerald Thompson, 74, of West Decatur died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at Clearfield Penn Highlands.
Born Nov. 18, 1939, he was a son of the late Burtis W. and Julia V. (Swales) Thompson. He was a 1957 graduate of Philipsburg High School.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Mr. Thompson was a heavy equipment operator and was also the owner of Thompson & Phillips Clay and of Thompson Vending. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing poker and most importantly, spending time with his two grandchildren.
On June 27, 1961 in Clearfield, he married Joyce M. (Straw) Thompson, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Robyn Thompson of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Dal Thompson and his wife, Lisa of West Decatur; two grandchildren, Dallas Thompson and Morgan Thompson; a brother, John H. Thompson of Kent, Ohio; and a sister, Lois Ann Mort and her husband, James of West Decatur.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Donald W. Thompson.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family and there will be no public visitation.
