State police at DuBois
- An incident of harassment occurred Thursday on Mount Pleasant Road in Huston Township. During the incident, a woman allegedly engaged in a verbal argument, at which time she pushed the victim. Charges, state police said, were filed through the district court.
- An alleged kidnapping was reported Aug. 28 at the Luthersburg Elementary School in Brady Township. A boy’s father arrived at the school and requested his release. He presented a court order from North Carolina, which awarded him primary care custody and control of the boy. School officials consulted with their solicitor and other authorities, and the court order was found to be valid. Further investigation revealed there had been an ongoing custody dispute between the boy’s parents. State police noted that because the custody order was valid through the Alamance County District Court, North Carolina, and the father was acting in accordance, the incident was subsequently listed as unfounded.
Clearfield Borough
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged theft incident. Further, someone allegedly took furniture from a residence along Northwest Fourth Avenue.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout on South Fourth Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a property issue that was civil in nature.
- Police received a report about an alleged retail theft incident that occurred on Supercenter Drive.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment from a resident on Valley View Drive.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred on Daisy Street Extension.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of attempted burglary on Gravel Lane.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard, as railroad lights were flashing in absence of a train. Further, police contacted railroad officials about the malfunction.
- Police received a report from a concerned individual about a local cemetery.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on Charles Road. Upon arrival police couldn’t locate the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on Libby Lane. The vehicle was gone prior to police arrival.
- Police received a traffic complaint that occurred on Clarendon Avenue.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault at the Economy Inn. One male, police said, was taken into custody and will face criminal charges for the incident.
- Police received a report about the alleged unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. However, police found it was being operated by its owner.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, police initiated an investigation into an alleged burglary that occurred at a business in the 100 block of South Brady Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Wednesday in the first block of South Brady Street. The couple, police said, allegedly engaged in an argument over the care of their child. No arrests were made as a result of the incident.
- On Wednesday, an unknown vehicle struck a 2003 Cadillac Deville parked on East Scribner Avenue. The operator of the vehicle then fled the scene; the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a residential alarm Thursday in the 200 block of South Highland Street. Upon arrival police located an open door; police assisted the key holder in checking the residence. Police noted that they didn’t find anything out of the ordinary.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday, a 30-year-old South Highland Street woman reported that her 10-year-old son was being harassed by a known man who was in his 40’s. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about three males who were allegedly smoking behind the Highland Street School on Wednesday. The males were gone upon police arrival to the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Wednesday at Isabella’s. Upon arrival police found that both parties had left the scene; however, employees reported that an African American male suddenly struck a Treasure Lake male with a bottle, causing a severe laceration to his head. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Wednesday, a 33-year-old DuBois man reported that while his vehicle was parked at the Ski Lodge in Treasure Lake, a 43-year-old Treasure Lake woman struck it while she pulled out of her parking space and then fled the scene. Police located the woman and charges have been filed against her.
- On Thursday, a 40-year-old Hanes Drive woman was allegedly observed by Wal-Mart employees leaving the store with $107.16 worth of merchandise in a cart. She allegedly took the cart to the end of the parking lot and retrieved her vehicle. Further, she allegedly went to the cart and put the items in the vehicle before leaving the area. Police pulled the woman over on Shaffer Road and she was transported to the Clearfield County Jail for a probation violation.
- On Thursday, a 30-year-old Brockport woman was charged for violating a no trespassing order by entering Wal-Mart.
- A 32-year-old Monroeville man reported that while his vehicle was parked Thursday on Tozier Avenue, it was struck with eggs.
- A 40-year-old Kersey woman reported that her 16-year-old daughter ran away from the family while at Buck’s Pizza on Thursday. Police located the girl on South Brady Street and took her to Penn Highlands at her request. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Thursday, a Mountville man reported that while he was sleeping in his tractor-trailer in the Pilot parking lot, someone struck it, causing damage. The suspect operator then left the scene.
