State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Aug. 17 on the DuBois – Rockton Road at its intersection with David Reed Road in Sandy Township. Further, a 54-year-old Rockton man was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested and the investigation is currently pending blood test results.
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime Aug. 4-8 on Lilac Lane in Warsaw Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole some prescription medications from the victim. The incident, state police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, a 23-year-old Bethel Park man, Jordan T. Reynolds, was stopped for an inspection on Route 255 and Caledonia Road in a Three Rivers Ice Cream Services truck. Upon speaking with him, there was a strong odor of marijuana detected and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found inside the truck’s cab. Reynolds admitted that the drugs belonged to him; the charges are currently pending further investigation. State police at Ridgway assisted at the scene.
- A 44-year-old Cyclone man, Wayne G. Martin, sustained major injuries Tuesday in a Mack truck accident on Interstate 80 west of Anderson Creek Road at mile-marker 105 in Union Township. Martin was traveling west in the right-hand lane when his passenger’s side front steering tire started to blow out while he was rounding a slight bend. He subsequently lost control of his truck, which traveled onto the north berm; it traveled for approximately 56 feet until its front end dug into a swampy area. At that point, his truck rolled end-over-end for 152 feet northwest before coming to a rest on its wheels. Martin, however, was trapped inside the truck after the accident. He was transported to DuBois Penn Highlands by ambulance. State police were assisted at the scene by the Oklahoma and Adrian fire departments, Amserv Ambulance and PennDOT.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of retail theft occurred Aug. 21 at Elk Co. Foods in Ridgway Township. During the incident, a 20-year-old Johnsonburg man and a known juvenile allegedly removed the contents of a box of cold medicine before leaving the store without paying. Charges, state police said, are currently pending.
- An incident of DUI occurred Aug. 22 on Route 255 near Old Kersey Road in Fox Township. Further, a known 21-year-old St. Marys man was allegedly swerving across three lanes of travel and upon being stopped, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges, state police said, are currently pending blood test results.
Lawrence Township
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female at a business on the Clearfield-Woodland Highway.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone inside a vehicle on the Clearfield – Shawville Highway. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was allegedly stolen.
- Police received a report about an alleged protection from abuse order violation.
- Police received a report about a residential alarm. Further, someone accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was allegedly damaged while it was unattended at the Clearfield Mall. The individuals involved exchanged the required information, police said.
- Police received three reports about missing children who didn’t return home from elementary school. Upon contacting the bus company, police found all buses were about 90 minutes behind schedule; all children were returned home.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male on Powell Avenue. The male was driving a reddish-orange three-wheeler and allegedly going through someone’s belongings under a car port. He was further described as wearing a blue baseball cap, a white T-shirt and black basketball shorts. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
- Police received a phone call with questions about a PFA violation on Carbon Mine Road.
- Police received a phone call about abandoned property at the Economy Inn.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute at the Edgewood Apartments. Upon arrival police found the male who was involved had left and that the dispute wasn’t physical in nature. Police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone at the Economy Inn. However, police listed the complaint as unfounded.
- Police assisted with a psychological emergency at a residence along Garman Avenue.
- Police responded to an alleged verbal domestic dispute at the Edgewood Apartments. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Lawrence Township rec park.
Curwensville Borough
- Police have received reports about off-the-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles being operated in the area of McNaul and Summit streets. Extra patrols will be provided to the area.
- Police received a report about juveniles who were allegedly loitering and prowling throughout the night in the area of Temple Heights.
- Two NEXT BMX bicycles were allegedly stolen sometime Monday from a Susquehanna Avenue residence. One bicycle is green and silver while the other is a green-yellow color.
DuBois City
- On Monday, a DuBois woman received a call from a man claiming to be with a business that fixed computers. The man wanted her to provide her Internet protocol address but she refused to.
- Someone allegedly took money Monday from a residence in the 300 block of East Scribner Avenue. Police have a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
- Someone allegedly took a push mower Monday from a porch of a residence in the 400 block of South Avenue. The investigation, police said, is ongoing at this time.
- Someone allegedly took money and medications Monday from an apartment in the first block of East Long Avenue. The investigation, police said, is ongoing at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute in the 500 block of East DuBois Avenue. It allegedly involved a father and his adult son who left prior to police arrival.
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute in the 200 block of West Scribner Avenue. It allegedly involved two females and one male; however, no one wanted to pursue charges. One female left the scene and no further action was necessary, police said.
- A bicycle and scooter were allegedly taken Monday from a yard in the 400 block of West Spruce Ally. The investigation, police said, is ongoing at this time.
- On Tuesday, a woman was struck by a car in the 300 block of DuBois Street while trying to pull her boyfriend out of her own. The operator of the car then fled the scene; the accident remains under investigation at this time. The woman, police said, was transported to DuBois Penn Highlands.
- An alleged fight involved several males Tuesday at the City Park. During the incident, one male allegedly brandished a knife and threatened to us it. Two men, police said, were arrested and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, police received a report about a woman who was allegedly “dressed like a hippie” and soliciting money in the area of McDonald’s. The woman was gone upon police arrival.
- Police responded to a Treasure Lake residence Monday to assist with a 65-year-old man who was allegedly being combative and uncooperative with his wife and a home health nurse. The man fled the home prior to police arrival but was located soon after. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Monday, a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Indiana man was unable to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Treasure Lake woman who was stopped for a red light at the Route 255 and the Interstate 80 ramp. No injuries were reported as a result; the man was cited for the accident, however.
- A 44-year-old Treasure Lake man and his 40-year-old estranged girlfriend allegedly engaged in an argument on Monday. When the man attempted to call 9-1-1, the woman allegedly unplugged the phone. Upon arrival police handled the verbal dispute without incident.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Eat ‘N Park on Monday.
- On Tuesday, police received a third-party call regarding an alleged domestic dispute at a Sylvan Heights residence. Upon arrival police found the individuals had separated and a female advised she was leaving the residence. Further, a male agreed to go to the hospital for treatment of back pain and to talk to someone about his anger issues.
- Wal-Mart employees reported a male and a female were caught attempting to take items from the store without paying for them on Tuesday. When they were confronted by security, they fled the scene, dropping several of the items along the way. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, a 42-year-old Hanes Drive woman reported that her 40-year-old husband had assaulted her and was currently outside the apartment, banging on the door and trying to get back in. The man, police said, was gone upon police arrival and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at a Platt Road residence on Tuesday.
- A Treasure Lake resident reported Tuesday that numerous motorists were driving in a reckless manner near his Basil Rock Road home. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
