John S. ‘Jack’ Daugherty, 83, of Grampian died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at his home. He was born April 4, 1931 in Smicksburg, a son of the late Sloan and Audrey (McAninch) Daugherty.
Mr. Daugherty retired in 1993 from Crawford Concrete, Rockton. He had previously been employed at Clearfield Cheese Co. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 268, Curwensville, where he served as governor for two years. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Daugherty served with the U.S. Army.
He’s survived by his wife, Patricia (Ackerson) Daugherty, whom he wed Aug. 11, 1951 in Marion Center; a brother, Carl E. Daugherty of Waterford; and a sister, Kathryn Dixon of Florida.
As per Mr. Daugherty’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family does suggest memorial contributions be made to charity of one’s choice.
