State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Wednesday on North Eighth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the suspect allegedly slashed all four tires on the victim’s vehicle, while it was parked along the right shoulder of the roadway. Damage is estimated at $274 and the victim observed the suspect flee on foot toward Ninth Street. - On Wednesday, a resident reported receiving a fraudulent check in the mail as payment for allegedly winning a Canadian lottery. She verified with the bank that the check was fraudulent and reported it to police.
- On Wednesday, a resident allegedly received a check with directions to cash it and to return a portion of the winnings back to pay for taxes. He verified that the check was fraudulent and reported it to police.
- Police received a report about an alarm Thursday at the American Legion on Liberty Boulevard. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- On Thursday, a woman parked her Toyota 4-Runner in the first block of North Sixth Street. While it was unattended, someone backed into the vehicle, causing damage to its front bumper. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Thursday, someone struck a Kia Sorrento while it was parked and unattended in the 500 block of Juniata Street. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Railroad Avenue. Further, a 24-year-old Reynoldsville woman was negotiating a turn when she lost control of her Chevrolet Cobalt and struck the curb, causing it to overturn. The woman was able to exit her vehicle; she was not injured in the accident.
