DUBOIS – A recent three-day project undertaken by the Beautification Committee of the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group (DDRG) proved to be a huge success, according to its organizers.

The DDRG effort filled six roll-off dumpsters from Advanced Disposal and Krentzman Recycling Yard, as well as a dump truck donated by Hallstrom Construction that were all staged at the old Highland Street Elementary School.

Pick-up items included appliances, televisions, furniture, scrap wood, metal scrap, carpeting, brush and much more. Some quality furniture items were donated to the new “Furniture Bank” facilitated by Miller Brothers Furniture and Lezzer Lumber.

There were also a few brush piles and stumps that the group was not equipped to haul due to their size, said organizers.
