LOCK HAVEN – Dr. Amy Cotner has begun her duties as Associate Dean of Student and Residence Life as of July 14 with Lock Haven University.
Cotner will direct the work and planning of all residence life professionals and lead the processes involved in all housing and dining contracting, room assigning, housing management, and judicial affairs.
“Dr. Cotner brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this Student Affairs position,” stated Dr. Dwayne Allison, Associate Provost for Student Affairs. “We are excited to welcome her to LHU and into the Lock Haven community.”
Cotner returns to Pennsylvania after spending three years at West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), where she served as Associate Dean of Students. In this role, she oversaw residence life and housing, student activities, the Campus Center, intramurals, Greek Life and many student organizations and groups, including advising the student newspaper and the Student Government Association.
Previous to her role at WVU Tech, she served in positions at Susquehanna Health, Bucknell University, Lycoming College, Penn State Mont Alto, Clarion University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Defiance College.
Cotner received her Doctorate in Education in Administration and Leadership, her Masters of Arts in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Penn State University.
Cotner and her son, Noah, look forward to becoming part of the Lock Haven University community.
