EUGENE, Ore. — Chad Zurat (Clearfield) notched the first win of his brief minor league baseball career in his fourth relief outing for the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League Friday night.
The right-hander was outstanding for three innings before departing with the bases full and one out in the sixth as the Dust Devils evened their North Division second half record at 2-2 with a 14-7 victory in front of 2,647 fans at PK Park.
Zurat retired nine of the first 10 Emeralds he faced.
In the sixth, he gave up a two hits and the first walk he has allowed in 10-plus innings while striking out one.
All three runners scored via a forceout and a double after Dylan Thompson relieved.
Zurat’s season totals are 10.2 innings pitched with 20 hits, 11 earned runs, five strikeouts and the one walk.
