Janet M. Peters, 62, of Penfield and a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born Jan. 7, 1952 in Spangler, she was the daughter of William and Anna M. (Gallagher) Shepler.
She had worked at the Chircora Nursing Home, REVC and MLNC. She was also a cake decorator at Riverside Market in Hyde.
On Feb. 1, 1969, she wed Thomas H. Peters, who survives of Penfield, along with two children, Brenda Green and her husband, Ronald of Clearfield and Thomas Peters Jr. at home.
She’s survived by grandchildren, Courtney Walker and his wife, Vicky of Penfield, Douglas Walker and his wife, Sierra of Clearfield and Braden Walker and his fiancée, Ashley Fike of Dubois and a great-granddaughter, Adalee Walker.
She’s also survived by brothers and sisters, James Shepler and Kathie Hamilton and her husband, Dennis, all of Hyde; Robert Shepler and his wife, Gloria of Glen Richey; Aggie Hunt and her husband, Earl of Curwensville; Bonnie Turner of Munson; Joseph “Dick” Shepler and his wife, Darlene of New Jersey; and Dan Shepler and his wife, Debra of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William and Clair Shepler; and three sisters, Bertha Hunt, Barb Young and Mary Young.
Funeral services for Janet Peters will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Watts Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
