Donna L. Stine, 79, of Lanse entered peacefully into heaven Friday, July 18, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her children and their families.
Born July 17, 1935 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Lucille Lawrence Earley. Mrs. Stine was raised by her aunt and uncle, Marion and Roy Lawrence.
She was a lifetime member of the Winburne Presbyterian Church. She was a deacon at the church. Also, she was a member of the True Blue Club and Choir.
Mrs. Stine was a graduate of the Cooper Township High School in the class of 1953. She retired from Presbyterian Home/Moshannon Heights.
She married George Houck Stine on May 10, 1958 in Lanse. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2012.
She’s survived by three daughters, Lori M. Sowash and her husband, Gary of State College, Beverly R. O’Connor and her husband, Robert of Allport and Connie S. Rebar and her husband, Troy of Akron and two sons, Timothy G. Stine and his wife, Mary Lou of Jacksonville, Fla. and Gary D. Stine and his wife, Tiffany of Winchester, Ky.
Mrs. Stine is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany Olmstead and her husband, Michael, Gary L. Sowash Jr., Rachel Ellis and her husband, James, Isabelle Stine, Kayla A. O’Connor, Kindra M. O’Connor, Emily L. Rebar, Trent N. Rebar and Riley K. Stine; and her great-grandchildren, Emma Olmstead, Michael Olmstead and Eva Ellis.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Major.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Winburne Presbyterian Church with Lay Ministers Gary Jewart and Martha Bloom officiating. Burial will be in the Winburne Presbyterian Cemetery.
There will not be any public visitation.
