Frank Jurewicz, 71, of Glen Hope died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Clearfield Penn Highlands. Born Sept. 2, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Francis and Martha (Nichols) Jurewicz.
Mr. Jurewicz served honorably in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Houtzdale American Legion, Freeberg Post No. 591; the Houtzdale Loyal Order of Moose No. 327; the Osceola Lodge No. 515 F&AM; and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local No. 950.
Mr. Jurewicz was employed as a union carpenter until his retirement.
He is survived by a son, Daniel Jurewicz of Glen Hope and three sisters, Roseanne Duda of New Jersey, Barbara Jurewicz of Scranton and Marilyn Melillo of Garwood, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no public visitation at the request of Mr. Jurewicz.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. July 26 at the Houtzdale American Legion. Burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin.
