Albert D. ‘Tiny’ Bowman, 75, of Woodland died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Clearfield, a son of the late Albert G. and Lula M. (Lanich) Bowman.
Mr. Bowman retired from PennDOT as a heavy equipment operator after 30 years of employment. Previously, he had been employed by Midland Amosite, R.L. Zimmerman Co., Penelec at the Shawville Power Plant and at the police department with Lawrence Township.
He enjoyed gardening, bowling, trains and anything pertaining to the Civil War. He also enjoyed watching wrestling on television and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
He attended the West Side Church of Christ, Clearfield. He will be sadly missed by his devoted pets, including his two dogs, Muffy and Coco and his cat, Ivory.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Royer) Lenhart Bowman, whom he wed July 16, 1999, and five children, Bonnie Bowman, Gary Bowman and his fiancée, Georgie O’Shell, Linda Bowman and Cindy Bowman, all of Clearfield, and Traci Herr and her husband, Jeff of Philipsburg.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Shawna Maines and her husband, Tyler, Mindy Bowman, Katie Bowman, Briana ‘BJ’ Bowman, Matthew Ogden and Derek Ogden; three great-grandsons, Evett, Easton and Ezra Maines; and a brother, Charles Bowman and his wife, Norma of Curwensville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Bowman and a brother, Thomas Bowman.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, 1317 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
