State police at Clearfield
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between July 2 and Monday on Rolling Stone Road in Covington Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used force to enter Troyer’s Custom Sawing. Further, they allegedly removed approximately 20 wrenches, a ratchet set and some money and caused $400 worth of damage. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Monday on Boundary Road in Wallaceton Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly threw an unknown object at the victim’s residence, which caused damage to a window. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Tuesday or Wednesday on Alberts Lane in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly cut the victim’s telephone line at its box, which is affixed to the outside of her residence. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- On Wednesday, a 20-year-old Clearfield man was stopped for summary traffic violations on Shiloh Road in Bradford Township. Upon speaking with him, the man admitted to transporting alcohol in the bed of his pick-up truck. He was subsequently transported to the Clearfield barracks and released to an adult. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a bear being on the porch of an Old Erie Pike residence. The bear was gone prior to police arrival.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a business in the 1800 block of Daisy Street Extension.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault and responded to the hospital. Upon investigation police found the report to be unfounded.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about a domestic dispute between a woman and her boyfriend in the 100 block of South Main Street. Upon arrival police observed a broken window; however, the woman was the only person at the residence. She didn’t have any signs of recent physical injury. The woman wouldn’t cooperate with a police investigation into who was involved in the alleged incident.
- On Monday, a Punxsutawney woman was visiting family in the 100 block of Hospital Avenue. She contacted police after receiving three threatening text messages from an unknown woman. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, someone allegedly stole a turquoise 1999 Ford F-150 from a driveway in the 200 block of Hubert Street. A short time after the initial report, the owner located his truck in the 500 block of West Washington Avenue, police said. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, someone allegedly stole a license plate from a van while it was parked in the 100 block of Beaver Drive. It has a Pennsylvania tag, YRP-1950, police said.
Sandy Township
- A vehicle driven by a 59-year-old DuBois man struck another driven by an 81-year-old Reynoldsville man while both approached the intersection of Dixon Avenue and South Brady Street on Monday. No injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at PNC Bank on Monday.
- Police responded to a local hotel for a fire alarm on Tuesday. Upon arrival employees reported that there was a guest in the room that was the source of the alarm. The guest was passed out and they were not able to wake him. Police were eventually able to wake the man who allegedly became uncooperative with them. He was subsequently arrested and charges have been filed against him. The alarm, police said, was due to burnt food in the room. Police also noted that alcohol was a contributing factor in the man’s behavior.
- On Tuesday, a Treasure Lake resident reported that someone spray-painted a light pole at the end of his driveway on Rum Keg Lane. There was also damage to a stop sign and a real estate sign in a neighbor’s yard, police said.
