CLEARFIELD – On June 26, CNB Bank hosted its third charity golf tournament and raised $22,250 to benefit local American Cancer Society programs.
The money raised has been donated to the ACS to make the services of Hope Lodge and the Wig Program available to local families.
Not alone in this endeavor, customers and vendors of CNB reached out with donations. Gifts for participants and Chinese auction, food, beverage, cart and tee sponsorships, cash donations, team sponsors and printing allowed CNB to exceed its expectations.
Finishing on top of the first flight was a team from Boenning & Scattergood and First Citizens Community Bank. The second place team was from Wise Eyes/Rowles Family Furniture. In the second flight, first place was the Double Eagles team and in second place was the ParenteBeard team.
Sue Johnson was the winner of the week-long stay in Pawley’s Island, SC. Fred Quinn won $400 in the 50/50 and donated it back. Bank officials would like to give a special thank you to Quinn and the Sloppy’s Jalopies team for donating back their $600 in Skins winnings, which will all benefit the local chapters of the ACS.

“At the Hope Lodge, they understand that undergoing treatment for cancer can be both financially and emotionally overwhelming. Having to travel out of town for treatment can make it even harder. That is why the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge offers lodging at no cost for cancer patients being treated in the central Pennsylvania area.”
The Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free, temporary place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others. There are two Hope Lodges in Pennsylvania.
The ACS Wig Program provides free wigs to patients suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment with insufficient insurance coverage.
“We’re happy that the American Cancer Society is once again able to designate the money to programs in Clearfield County that will benefit families within our own community,” stated Bower.
