CLEARFIELD – Pennsylvania Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers are still available to qualifying senior citizens who live in Clearfield County.
The SFMNP provides eligible, older citizens of Pennsylvania with vouchers to purchase fruits and vegetables at registered farmers markets.
Four $5 vouchers are being distributed one time during the program year to Clearfield County residents 60 years of age and older who meet income eligibility requirements.
The income limit is $21,590 for a single person and $29,101 for a married couple.  Identification showing date of birth and county (or town) of residency is required when vouchers are picked up.
A Social Security Card is not a valid form of identification for this purpose. Examples of acceptable identification include the following: a Pennsylvania driver’s license, a state photo identification card, an ATA identification card or a letter from the Social Security Administration stating age or date of birth.
A new location for distribution has been added. Vouchers will be distributed on July 18 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., at the New Millport’s Women’s Club Building in New Millport. Also, distribution at the Houtzdale Family Service Center has been canceled for July 14.
The Houtzdale Center will be open but vouchers will not be available on that day. Normal distribution for Houtzdale will resume on July 21. For a complete schedule of distribution sites and times, please call 814-765-2696 or visit www.ccaaa.net.
The last day that vouchers will be distributed is Sept. 30. However, the vouchers may be used through Nov. 30 of this year at participating Farmers Market locations.
Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions.
