CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County Fair Queen Taylor Goodman and her court recently hosted the third annual Queen’s for a Cause 5k Run/Walk and Car/Bike Show on June 8 at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds.
Queens for a Cause raises funds for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and local causes. Each year the fair queen makes a donation to CMN at their annual telethon and a local cause of her choice.
This year’s 5K and car/bike show raised nearly $3,700. The next scheduled Queens for a Cause fundraiser is a pancake and sausage breakfast to be held Nov. 15 at the fairgrounds.
To date, more than $125,000 has been donated to CMN and local causes since the inception of Queens for a Cause (formerly Queens for Kids).
On June 8, the day kicked-off with the Royal 5K Run/Walk, which had 83 runners/walkers. The event featured two special guests, in “miracle children,” Chelsea Ippolito and Tyler Olsen. This year’s 5K featured a special prince/princess theme or dress as their favorite prince/princess.
Jodie Potter of Philipsburg received a prize for the best ‘royal’ appearance. Participants also had the opportunity to sign up to be on a team for their favorite Disney character.
The miracle child associated with the character who received the most participants received a special gift and a donation will be made in their honor to Children’s Miracle Network.
Overall male finishers were: first place, Michael Robinson of Reynoldsville; second place, Rudy Cordon of Clearfield; and third place, Cody Luchs of Ridgway.
Overall female finishers were: First place, Vanessa Snyder of Grampian, second place, Cassie Folmar of Luthersburg and third place Jamie Corbin of DuBois.

The Car & Bike Show featured 88 entries.
