CLEARFIELD – A man accused of sexual assault waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during Centralized Court at the Clearfield County Jail.
Donald Thomas Reid, 22, of Philipsburg has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and statutory sexual assault. He’s incarcerated at the CCJ in lieu of $50,000 bail.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 9, 2013, the alleged victim received a call from Reid at approximately 3 a.m. Reid asked how she was doing and if he could come over to her Decatur Township residence.
The alleged victim agreed and Reid arrived at approximately 5 a.m. They were sitting on the couch and talking in the basement. While there, Reid allegedly inappropriately touched and performed unwanted sex acts on her.
During interviews in June, Reid admitted to engaging in consensual sex acts with the alleged victim. He also acknowledged he was aware that the alleged victim was 13 years of age at the time.
