Betty Ardary Westover, 85, of Clayton, Calif. and formerly of Midland, Mich. and Curwensville, died Friday June 20, 2014 at the John Muir Hospital in Concord, Calif.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1928 in Blaw Knox, a daughter of the late Edward Harry Ardary and Louise Russell (Ammerman) Ardary. She died after a long battle with liver failure.
She attended Clarion University and graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She had a Master’s degree from the University of Delaware.
She retired after teaching 29 years of elementary education in Delaware and Michigan. Baking was one of her passions. She sent boxes of cookies to friends and family at Christmas and was very people-oriented.
She is survived by her husband, Lemoyne, to whom she was married 61 years; three children, Ginger Guthrie, Lee Westover and Betsy Westover; and two grandchildren, James and Katherine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Max, Bob, Jim and Fred.
Services are private and were held at the convenience of the family at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
